So, I know that it’s very difficult to pick your 10 favourite things about Walt Disney World… What do you leave out? How long is your “honorary mentions” list?
There are just so many awesome things to experience at WDW that it is very difficult to narrow down the list. In any case, I have tried my best to list my Top 10 favourite things at WDW and here is my (preliminary) selection.
10. The beach at the Polynesian Resort.
Although you definitely cannot swim in Bay Lake or the Seven Seas Lagoon, the beach over by Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Resort is a wonderful and relaxing spot to look at Cinderella Castle.

Come to the beach at night to see Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant, or simply have a stroll around this Disney resort’s lush gardens and soak in the tropical tiki atmosphere. Best of all, it's free and you don't even need to be a guest of this deluxe WDW resort to experience it.
9. Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
In my opinion, this is the best interactive 4D attraction in all of Walt Disney World. I can’t pull that handle fast enough to shoot at the targets…
Also, I love the queue area in particular the larger-than-life Mr. Potato Head audio-animatronic. The old boardgames also bring up nostalgic memories.
8. The pool at the Yacht and Beach Club.
These sister hotels share a 3-acre mini-waterpark. Stormalong Bay (for hotel guests only unfortunately) features a sand-bottom pool and a lazy river. Great to chill out on a warm summer day after a long walk in the theme parks.
7. Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The best way to ride this roller coaster is in the front. The worst is after lunch. Watch out for the Yeti (if it works). This is probably one of the few attractions at Walt Disney World where I would not recommend using FASTPASS.
The queue is awesome, with great theming and spectacular visual details. Take your time to go through it, it's probably the best part of the whole experience.
6. Chef Mickey’s Restaurant at the Contemporary Resort.
Enjoy a wonderful buffet breakfast with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald. And watch the Monorail pass by, too!
5. Mickey Mouse-shaped Ice Cream Bar.
Vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate, you really cannot go wrong with that. A must-have on any Walt Disney World vacation, which has become quite of a tradition for our family.
4. Soarin’ at Epcot.
I love to smell the orange groves and the Pacific Ocean on this amazing WDW attraction. Remember that the best seats are on the top! Also, bear in mind that the queue can get very long and FASTPASS tends to run out pretty soon in the morning, so get there early!
3. Cirque du Soleil.
A little bit pricey, but the stunts and performers on this Downtown Disney show are simply amazing. If you have the chance and the budget, check it out; Cirque du Soleil at Walt Disney World is one of the most impressive experiences in all of WDW.
2. Wishes Fireworks at the Magic Kingdom.
I love to sing along. Enough said.

As an added bonus, have a look around you and chances are that you will see many grown-ups shedding a couple of tears. The music, the story and the setting make this one of my all-time favourite Walt Disney World nighttime shows.
1. Main Street USA at the Magic Kingdom.
There is nothing like walking down Main Street USA and seeing Cinderella Castle at the end. I know I am in the most happy place on earth, and there is no better way to start your WDW vacation.
